Well,I can happily say that I know of a moisturizer that is the answer to all your questions.
L'OREAL HYDRAFRESH AQUA GEL
Got this from Swera Departmental store,Lahore in PKR 390.The Aqua gel comes in a jar of 50 ml.It has a light mint-green color.
The product is actually a cream that is cool to touch.Whenever I spread it on my face I
get a feel of freshness.It almost feels like I was splashing fresh water on my face.The moisturizer smells of euclyptus.The smell and touch both are treat for senses.

It has a very liquid-y feel.The consistency is creamy but the feel is like water,(hope you are getting my point).The aqua gel just sinks in the skin so fast,leaving behind a supple,hydrated skin.After application I thoroughly examined my face to look for the shine and oil.But,to my amazement,my skin felt moisturized but not shiny or oily at all.It was soft and smooth.
Now the second test was time.For how long would I stay oil free?Well,with this baby the oil never showed up.(For the record I never use ANY moisturizer because even in winters it makes me look like a frying pan).I started using the moisturizer in September when the weather was moderately warm and humid.The gel worked great for me even then.Total matte look,no shine,no oil for 6-7 hours.In winters,it has been giving my skin the required hydration without the oiliness.
[UPDATE:In winters it kept my skin moisturized and matte, but in summers it does make the skin oily.so girls with oily skin can not use it summers.]
A lot of creams in the market have been introduced to give a matte look to oily skin.However,all of them give a tight feeling to the skin,like it has not been moisturized in ages.Also,they feel heavy,like skin can not breath.Rebound oiliness is always a side effect.With this aqua gel heavy feeling is a thing of past.It may look like a cream, but has all the properties of a gel.It just gives the right amount of hydration to skin and thus discourages natural oil production.
I am in love with this one.I call it the BEST BUY of 2012.It is an oilies' best friend.
Now,the best piece of news....NO BREAKOUTS.Yayyyy for that.I have very acne prone skin.Even saying the name "'moisturizer" used to give me pimples (hahaha).Not anymore :).I have hydrated soft skin which is pimple free.You know,keeping the skin hydrated delays aging.So,I will always have this gel with me.

Just when I was thinkin of buying this you did a post! It's like you read my mind! :) I have extremely acne prone skin too and i have been fighting acne all my life, in fact i try not to use moiturizer in the day time at all caz it makes my face so oily. Now i'm gonna have to give this one a try. Thanks for the review :) xx
ReplyDeletei would say u should go for simpler formulations like clean n clear and neutrogena dialy moisturizer.they just moisturize skin no added function so contain less irritants for active acne.

DeleteGreat review, dear! The way you describe it makes me want it lol. You had me at cool and refreshing. I tend to shy from moisturisers as well, because I look so oily after awhile. Do you moisturise at evening before bed? I always wake up with glowing fresh skin and my favourite product is the Avon night cream for the 30s age range.

DeleteI find that night cream really makes more difference in my skin than day cream! I know it's hard to do anything at night!! Days are just too short, right? How does the weather get in Pakistan in Winter?
Deleteits dry n chilly.sometimes winters here can be real harsh on skin.but its for a short time two...to three months.night creams are very nourishing for skin.i do try to use night cream as they are an important part of skin care routine in winters.
