Open pores are a big problem for most girls.BIG open pores are even worse.Pores are ducts of oil glands that open on skin to keep it moisturized and soft.Under the effect of hormones the oil production increases and so the pore increases in size to accomodated the secretion's out flow.This enlargement is irreversible and becomes prominent with increase age and decrease of elastic tissue in skin.Girls are always looking for ways to achieve a poreless,airbrushed look which forms the very basis of good makeup.For this problem I have been trying so many products.Recently you read my review on Porefessional by Benefit.(here).Today I have a product to share which seems to have worked for some.
Was it good for my pores?Lets see.
The lotion is costly.I mean you get 6ml for 850 PKR.It comes in a smallish bottle with a cute cap.The lotion is very light weight and non greasy.It smells great too.Faint citrus like scent .
On application I waited for the pore shrinking miracle,but it didn't come.It just absorbed in my skin and that's it.It acted more like an oil free moisturizer which kept me a little matte too,but no effect on my gi-normous pores.
Then I started using it at night time after cleansing with my PINK mia ^_^(review here).The next day pores were smaller.Well they mostly are when I wakeup.Resting does that to my pores.But through the day the appearance was greatly reduced.Nothing miraculous just a little even looking skin then before.I kept on using it and my pores were less apparent and definitly smaller.However,the effect was not permenant and when I stopped using it,my skin went back to its old self.
{UPDATE:I got a few painful zits on my cheek area.I think it didn't agree with my acne prone skin too. :-( }
Now why did I stopped using it when it worked fine as a moisturizer and a week pore minimizer?
I read at Muslim Consumer Group website that AVON tests on Animals and also uses pork fat in the products whe other sources are not available(here).So obviously I quit using it.
You think cost is not a problem.

AVON MARK NEED A SHRINK? PORE MINIMIZING LOTION
Iram Lilani,a facebook page owner very kindly arranged this for me.She is very sweet.Here is her Facebook page.I sent her 50 rupees extra by mistake and she very kindly returned them by easyload in my mobile phone.I mean who does that nowadays ^_^ so she is super sweet.Not like those page owners who are very sweet before placing order,but once you pay they act a little snappish.Anyways the lotion cost me PKR850.

RECOMMENDED:
Only if you don't have problems with the formulations of AVON products.You think cost is not a problem.
RATING:
As a product only (for those who don't have any problem with AVON company policy).

ReplyDeleteThankyou sparkle <3 tomato paste is really good i know.It works.Thanks for reminding me dear :-)
DeleteThe last line just made me go like WHAT!! Are u sure they use animal fat? I know so many muslim ladies in Calgary who are Avon consultants! According to them, its halal! Its so confusing with all of this commercialization... Anyways, nice review :)
ReplyDeleteI have read this on many websites and ofcourse canadian muslim consumer group website.So i think it is better to avoid it.As for the halal status of makeup i dont think many woman bother abt it becasue according to them halal should be taken into consideration where only food is concerned.so yes there is alot of diff of opinion there.thanks for visiting ruqaiya.

Thanks for sharing ur honest opinion. No matter how much I believe that there's nothing "pore minimizing".. I always fall for pore minimizing products. Thanks for saving me this time. :)
