Hello beauties,
Every girl loves eye makeup. Those who don't, just dislike the effort behind it and not the makeup itself. So,today I have a post that my readers will like for sure. Its an eye shadow palette. Yayyy.
Whats more is that its a vegan palette.Halal, carmine free eye shadows.Cherry on the top is the price. Its drugstore and totally affordable. You guessed it...E.L.F 100 eye shadow palette.
I really wanted this one since a long time. However,it was always out of my reach because of price issues. Then I could never find comprehensive reviews on this palette. The swatches online were never enough to satisfy my curiosity. So,I never took the chance of spending nearly 3000pkr.
Then I found a great deal on it and needless to say I got it ^_^
E.L.F 100 EYE SHADOWS PALETTE
I got this palette from Dhanak in PKR1550.Here is the haul post.
This palette is a combination of matte, shimmery and pearly eye shadows. The same palette was launched by E.L.F in "Spring Edition" which had more shimmery shades. It was marble palette. However,I wanted a balanced blend so I got the simple one.
The matte shades finish is distributed on the spectrum of satin to chalky. The lighter shades in the first column are chalky and pose a lot of difficulty in application. All other colors have satin texture. Some pearly ones even have velvety texture(especially 11-15 and 84).
The colors, though sheer on first application are quite build able. The vibrance increases when shades are worn over primer. These color will get as good as your primer. So,make sure you have a good one in stash.Without primer this palette is not of much use.
Pigmentation and color pay off varies a lot. Some matte shades like jade green(25),dirty green(30),brown(20,57,83,87,90),Midnight blue(40),pink(50,53,59) and red(70) have good pigmentation and color pay off,but all the matte shades in column 1 are a real disappointment..The matte white color is just ,well...Meh.I find myself reaching out for my NYX jumbo pencil in "milk" more and more when I want a richer hue of matte white. However,I do use the white eye shadow on my brow bone for a subtle highlight.
The pearly and shimmery shades all have good color pay off as is clearly visible in swatches.Even the pearly white(92) is satisfactorily pigmented. On that note do take a look at that gorgeous purple(38) and electric blue(39).They have to be the best pigmented of the lot.
The color black(99) is not the blackest black. It looks closer to a deep, dark grey. This was a real let down for me.A big palette should have a rich black shade in it.
.
My favorites are jade green. It has matte finish with tiny specks of glitter.Buck brown(20),electric blue(38),red(70)metallic grey brown(80),shimmery brown(88).
Note that column 71 to 90 has Urban Decay NAKED 1,2 dupes and I can spot some NAKED 3 dupes in column 51-60.Below is a comparison photo.(The Naked swatches have been taken from google images.).
