SIX THINGS THAT CAN GET GREAT RESULTS FROM YOUR BB CREAM

Its winter time ^_^.A time when you can skip foundation and still look fresh. Of course this can only be if you are kind and loving to your skin.In winters people with dry skin need to use good moisturizers more then ever.However,for routine daily wear you can skip heavy duty, ultra-stay-on foundations unlike summers.Moisturizer,BB cream,a little concealer,touch of blush and a peachy nude lipstick and you will be ready to rock the world.I know some of you might be skeptical when I recommend BB creams.White cast,uneven or streaky application and patchiness can really put one off of BB creams.So,today is about making the best of whichever BB cream you have.Follow these simple steps and your BB cream will brighten up your complexion.

1-EXFOLIATION:

In winters the process of dead cells sloughing or removal is very slow.The dead cell turn over is not as fast as it was in summers.This is one reason you might see some dead skin coming off when you towel yourself after a hot shower.So,using a scrub in winters is a MUST.Always prefer scrub with small beads and creamy formula.It will not dry your skin or rub it the hard way.Twice weekly for 3 minutes works really well.Be gentle.Remember your skin is not a greasy pot or pan that needs a thorough scuffing.You just need to scrub very gently in circular motion concentrating on flaky areas.This will even out your skin and remove flakes.Routine use is imperative to get results.

2-MOISTURIZE:

People with dry skin need to moisturize religiously.However,girls with oily skin,too, can not skip moisturizer in winters.If you don't want to use one in day then a night cream will work wonders for your skin.So,a good,moisturizing NIGHT CREAM is your best friend no matter what your age or skin type is.
Keep a jar at your bedside and never forget to use it after washing face at night.I have very oily skin so I don't moisturize in day.However,I have observed that using a night cream leaves my skin soft and evened out in the day.This helps me avoid the oily face and I get to enjoy the moisturizer benefits too.
Moisturizing from within is as important or even more important then moisturizing from outside.This means maintaining a good hydration level.Drink 8-16 glass of water per day.To see how drinking water can make you look younger read this interesting article.

4-BB CREAM:LESS IS MORE:

BB creams lie between moisturizers and foundations.They give coverage and moisture too.Good for travel, easy to use and wash off.(For reviews on BB creams click here.).However,there are some mistakes we commit while using BB creams.We try to skip concealer and use bb creams like foundation.You see the formulas of these two are very different.Foundations are meant to stay on skin,bb creams are designed to sink in.BB creams can not cover up a lot or give air brush effect.So,slathering up a lot is a very bad idea.It will sink in,react with skin oils and oxidize.This is where complaints of white cast and ashy or gray look arises.

So,experiment with the quantity of BB cream you use.Reduce it and blend well.You are going for brightening effect and not caked up look so try to take less amount.

I use Garnier BB cream for oily skin.It has good coverage.I just apply three dots on each cheek and two on forehead one for nose and chin.Then I blend it well and set with powder.So far I am extremely pleased with it.

5)-USE A GOOD PRIMER IF YOU HAVE OILY SKIN PRIOR TO BB CREAM:

I know,I know.BB creams are moisturizers and the rule is moisturize then prime.However,if you use a night cream and have oily skin then you will not need moisturizer in the day.If you have dry skin then you can skip primer.However,most of the times bb creams are not moisturizing enough.So,its better to use your daily regular moisturizer before getting ready.Let it sink in,pat with a tissue and after 10 minutes apply primer.Follow this with bb cream after 5 minutes.

6)-EXPERIMENT WITH TECHNIQUE

Well,if you have a lot of skin problems like uneven skin,scars,pigmentation and your bb cream fails to perform for you, try this one.Mix a drop of your favorite foundation in the cream.This will let you enjoy the benefits of the foundation without looking made up.

I mix Ben nye banana powder in my BB cream to get a natural,yellow tone.
