BENEFIT COSMETICS: THEY ARE REAL LENGTHENING AND VOLUMIZING MASCARA

 

           I was on the lookout for water soluble daily mascara which would not feel too heavy. After hearing a lot of great reviews about benefit’s “they are real mascara” I decided to give it a try. Read on...

   This is a deluxe version of benefit’s mascara. It comes in a small tube and the mascara brush is more long than wide with sharp plasticy bristles which separates the lashes.

 

Product claims:
  They’re real! Lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts and separates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won’t smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!.

   Apparently this mascara has won quite a few beauty awards too.

   On opening the mascara the smell is a little chemical like and off putting but who cares as long as it does what it promises. The consistency is a little towards the thicker side(maybe because this mascara is a little old? if you own one ,please leave a comment about its consistency so i know i am not the only one complaining about it LOL). On applying one coat it did nothing for my lashes and I was starting to be disappointed but after second coat I noticed a visible difference in the thickness of my lashes. It really lives up to its claim. It does not clump nor does it feel heavy on the lashes.i used a spooli brush to further separate my lashes. It lasted all day on my eyes and did not irritate my contact lenses.
When I washed my face, the mascara ran down all over my face. But still a lot of it was left on the lashes , so kuddos to its staying power.It gives the appearance of being water proof mascara without actually being one. It is not very hard remove but it does take some time. I usually remove my eye makeup with coconut oil as it is not harmful to the eyes.

Cons:

1.       Price

2.       Not water proof

3.       Does not lengthens the lashes much

Very Sticky and thick consistency
