Hi all,
This one is a quick post about how the proper technique of covering the dark circles under eyes.First of all just a simple reminder:
"Concealer should be used over the foundation if you are wearing liquid foundation. If you are wearing powder or mineral foundation use concealer before foundation".
Ok lets do it in steps:
First take a look at my dark circles.Duh duh dahhhhh:
1)-Moisturize under eyes. The area has thin skin and can easily start developing fine lines if not taken care of.So make a routine of moisturizing under eyes at night.
2)-Prime.You can use a regular face primer or an eye shadow primer. Both work fine.
3)-Apply foundation.
4)-Apply the concealer in dots in a shape of inverted triangle with the base at lower lid(shown below).
5)-Take a flat concealer brush and blend.Blending outward towards temple is better.Blend the harsh lines properly.
6)-Make sure you conceal in a triangular area and not semicircle if you have swollen or baggy under eyes.
7)-Now,take some setting powder or HD setting powder(if you like illuminated effect) and dust it under eyes using a velvet sponge.
8)-Now leave it to set and do your hair or nails or eye makeup.
9)-Now take your make up setting powder and use it all over face blending around the eyes very gently.
10)-Dust the excess with fan brush or large powder brush.
For ten steps to a flawless foundation application read this post.

ReplyDeletelovely, dark circles is a big problem for me,i m using essence 3in1 concealer.now i will try to conceal triangular area.thanks for guiding.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome dear :)
Deletethank u for such an informative post, i also have a big problem of dark circles and it always drangs my confidence down.but im so grateful to u for this post.can u plz tell me which company's concealer brush have u used? how to select the right shade of concealer? i have bought many concealers from various brands but everytime my under eye area looks ashy :( plz give ur valuable suggestion and guideline....thank u
ReplyDeleteHi Faiza,
DeleteFor this post i have used boi-ing by benefit. However,it does have a creasing problem on my oily skin.I would suggest you try glamoflauge by Hard candy.or Rimmel match perfection concealer, or Loreal lumimagic pen concealer.
If you are confused about shade selection always buy a brighter shade. One shade lighter then skin tone or lighter then your foundation.Triangle application and blending the margins will give the lovely glowing look under eye.
DeleteThe ashy look can be due to shade mismatch or because of oxidation of concealer.Use a primer under the concealer and see if it fixes the problem. If not then its time to try a new concealer :)
thank u so much shehrzad for ur kind reply, shade 54 in 123 bourjis foundation suits my skin, its beige.so which shade of concealer wud suite me? ivory ? im so confused, im gona buy rimmel concealer now, can u suggest primer under the concealer? i have MUA eye primer i just bought from just4girls, is it just for eye shadow r i can use it under concealer too?
