Even when I was a student with my head buried in books and I was unaware that people blog about makeup(I was that naive once :p ) I knew about its existence.So it was natural that I wanted it as soon as I started blogging.After an agonizing period of waiting I finally got it.So, did it live up to the hype or did it prove to be yet another example of overtly exaggerated raves on an average product from a high end brand ? **rolls eyes**

BOX OF EYE LASHES + AQUA EYES

I hope you all are enjoying early Monsons :) .After quite sometime I thought of doing an eye makeup related post.So here I am.

As you all know I got a few things from BORN PRETTY STORE a while ago.Well the most coveted product was Silk eye lashes.These are hand made and promise a natural look.So,I thought I should give them a try.Lashes can be quite expensive if you are not blessed with your own thick fringes.Since each pair costs around PKR 170 to 500,depending upon brand,one has to be extremely careful in handling the wispies to be able to re-use them.I dont know about you,but its very taxing for me.So I got me self a box of lashes aye :p ,that I did (**irish accent**).

Take a look at it.These are available for 4.18$ on the store.Check them out here.Price is 418 PKR for 10 pair of lashes .Girls do visit the store, because it can be a real money saver if you like unique things.

The lashes are handmade and cotton and fiber is used in the manufacturing.These are synthetic.The lash band is made of cotton thread.This little change makes lashes easy to apply and bend according to your eye shape.Also,since cotton clings with glue easily,there are lesser chances of lashes coming off.Another plus point is the band color.It is black and hence it will blend and never stand out on you lash line.There is no compulsion of using a liquid liner with these to hide the lash band and you can even use your liner pencil to get a smudged look,which otherwise is impossible with falsies.

The crisscross pattern gives a great boost to volume of lashes.However,since length is not overtly dramatic,you get a very natural look.So much so that you can apply them in day time even.Fake eye lashes can sometimes give you more drama and volume then you are aiming for resulting in a very artificial and cheap finish.The born pretty lashes enable you to get a very natural yet somewhat voluminous look.These falsies feel ever so light.Its not like you are carrying something over your lash line.

Regular readers of my blog are aware that my lashes are not very long or volumized.So I do relay heavily on mascara for formal events.However,the BPS lashes really give my lashes a natural look.Non one can tell that I am wearing these.

So, being a lover of natural looks,these lashes have won my heart.For those who want more drama you can still look through the eye lashes available at store.Here.

After the above photo I completed my makeup,curled lashes,applied mascara and smudged liner for this AQUA EYE OF THE DAY.I used E.L.F 100 eyeshadow palette for this look.Mascara used DMGM Lashe Flash Mascara.

NYX WONDER PENCIL In MEDIUM+TIP FOR AWAKE EYES

Hi girls,

So here I am with yet another product which promises so much that it has been christened wonder pencil.Did you know about it?Basically It is a nude pencil that comes in three shades.

 NYX says:

"Wonder woman meet wonder pencil,....conquer three critical makeup tasks with one pencil:Conceal flaws and blemishes with creamy precision,Line your lips against feathering and bleeding of lipstick,Brighten your eyes along the waterline.Will wonders never cease?"

So here is the story of how I got it.Actually I was thinking over the simple tip of lining waterline with white pencil,which open the eyes and gives an awake look.Almost every one interested in makeup knows it.However,here is a teaser:does it work for us yellow Asians?In fair races the low melanin levels in skin impart a light pink or pale look to mucous membranes and lips.The same applies for waterline too.So if they line the waterline with white their eyes look open and awake.However,for our pinkish to beige waterlines the white liner can look a bit out of place.so the new trend is nude liner on the water line for an awake yet natural look.Therefore I searched and searched until I found this one.

I had two other options:a concealer pencil that comes with hard candy glamoflauge.I didn't know about its staying power.Another cheap alternative was Rimmel Scandal eyes kohl in nude.I am still not sure about animal ingredients in Rimmel products so that brand is on hold for me.

So lets see how wonderful is the wonder pencil...

I love to do eye makeup.Dramatic,big eyes are my favorite.I am such a big fan of eye shadows, but  surprisingly I didn't own good quality eye shadow brushes.Actually never had the budget to buy a good set.Tools are everything when it comes to makeup.The right brushes compensate somewhat for the lack of technique or learning.After a lot of research and blog reading I decided to finally get myself Real Technique Brushes.These are vegan friendly in case you are wondering :)

REVLON COLOR STAY EYELINER

Hello pretties,

Beautifully defined eyes are every one's favorite. Lining eyes with kohl is perhaps one of the most ancient known form of eye makeup.The beautiful bold liner is even very clearly visible in historical Egyptian art on pyramid walls.Back in 3100 BC, it was used by Egyptian queens and noble women as a prevention from harsh sun rays and evil spirits and of course for beautification.

Well in that aspect I am no different :P I am one of those girls who don't step out of their bedrooms until they have a healthy dose of kajal or eyeliner.So,I keep experimenting with different eyeliners.(Read posts here).Ever since I came to know that Revlon does not use animal ingredients except bees wax,lanolin and honey in its products(lipsticks are carmine free ^_^ ) I wanted to try the eyeliners too.There are two ranges:Color stay and photo ready. Photo ready kajal has made it in the top most recommended by Allure.Anyways on failing to find that one I settled on Color stay crayon eyeliner.This one has got reader's choice awards 2003,2005,2006,2008,2009(link).So,I had to try this one.

REVLON COLOR STAY EYELINER In BLACK

CORRECT WAY OF CONCEALING UNDER EYES CIRCLES

Hi all,

This one is a quick post about how the proper technique of covering the dark circles under eyes.First of all just a simple reminder:

"Concealer should be used over the foundation if you are wearing liquid foundation.If you are wearing powder or mineral foundation use concealer before foundation".

Ok lets do it in steps:

First take a look at my dark circles.Duh duh dahhhhh:

1)-Moisturize under eyes.The area has thin skin and can easily start developing fine lines if not taken care of.So make a routine of moisturizing under eyes at night.

EYES OF THE DAY

I love creating new looks using my eye shadow palette.I did this look sometimes ago but couldn't post.So.I decided to do it today :D 

I used MUA eye shadow primer on my lids.
I have used blue with metallic sheen on the lid and used smokey brown to define crease.
A little shimmery white on brow bone.Profusion eye shadow palette in Dark.
Nyx jumbo pencil in milk in the inner corner of eye and on the water line for an "open eyes" look.
Used Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara.
Catrice Gel eye liner was used to create the bold winged eyeliner.

On face I used some coral blush by Color institute.
On lips I wore Beauty UK Lipstick In the Buff over Rivaj nude lip pencil.The over all effect was light coral pink.

E.L.F MINERAL INFUSED MASCARA

Hi girls,
So a serious review after EID is here finally.This time its a mascara.I have just medium sort of lashes,like  no long fringe and no extra volume I can boast of.So I would love to get my hands on a good mascara that can give me a volumizing plus lengthening effect.Also it has to be halal.Now thats the real problem.[For my friends, who are not very involved in halal/haram debate I would recommend L'oreal Voluminous Full definition mascara.It is a perfect dupe for Georgio Armani  "Eyes to kill" mascara (one of the best).]

Ok so a mascara can be haram if it contains some oils derived from animals.This is the only thing which requires further research by me.Because according to wikipedia the mascaras contain mineral oil mostly.(For more on halal cosmetics read this post and this post).

Not all mascaras have haram ingredients, but some might have and I try my best to avoid the non vegan ones to be on the safe side.

So, I tried this mascara by ELF(Eyes Lips Face UK is all Vegan).The company makes several mascaras,but this one seemed to be the best.Let's see how It worked for me.

MAYBELLINE COLOSSAL KAJAL

Asslamoallaikum pretties,
I hope and pray that june is treating all of you well.Summers and make up are not the best of friends.Makeup melting and oily face are common complaints in this season.Some Girls prefer to go bare face in summers.However,even with the most natural look every girl has  ONE wish...an eye liner/kajal which stays put.With high hopes I bought Maybellin Colossal Kajal.Was it good or average?Read on to find if the wish for non smudging kajal was granted.

RIVAJ UK EYE SHADOW BASE

I have a habit of searching for photos of good eye makeup online and drawing inspiration  from 

them.Almost an year ago,I never could understand why,even after trying  my best,I couldn't 

get that pigmented,neat finish in my eye make up.Well,it was then,that I came to know about 

primers.A much  raved and affordable primer,that  I added to my wishlist was MUA EyeShadow 

Primer.Well,as luck would have it,it was always outta stock.It just came and went outta stock  

annoyingly quick.So,on my departmental store visit I bought Rivaj UK Eye shadow Primer,just 

to try :) .
